Lisa adopted Dante this summer from the Calgary Humane Society and part of her contract with them was that this young dog would complete obedience lessons. Lisa spent two weeks in the Crowsnest Pass area and during that time completed four lessons of beginner obedience at Shadowbar. I was absolutely impressed with handler and dog. What a great match.
Lisa was kind enough to send me this picture and a short report on their progress over the summer.
"I hope all is well with you and that you had a warm and happy thanksgiving with family, friends… and, of course, dogs!
Attached is a picture from yesterday – Dante was able to come out in the field with me for this field trip. This was the first time (so far) that the Project site was suitable to let me bring him. He did great in the hotel Monday night and the next day while we were out an about completing a stream assessment. My co-worker brought her lab cross as well and both dogs had a great time – they were tuckered out by 2 in the afternoon! We had a blast too and count ourselves fortunate that we are able to bring our dogs with us to the outside office! I am looking forward to taking him with me on more field trips next year.
I have not been south as much as I had hoped this summer and fall – things have become quite busy at work. I do hope that over the winter, perhaps in December, I will be able to book Dante and I in for some more classes with you. I can’t thank you enough for everything that you taught me…. Although I am sure that I could use some brushing up by now!"
